Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Dentists Registration (Amendment) Act, 1980, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Dentists Registration (Amendment) Act, 1980, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 2
Section 2 of the Dentists Registration Act (hereinafter in this Act referred to as the principal Act) is amended —
by deleting paragraph (a) of subsection (1) and substituting the following: —“(a)the Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental);”; and
by deleting the words “Assistant Director of Medical Services (Dental)” in subsection (3) and substituting the words “Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental)”.
Amendment of section 3
Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words “Assistant Director of Medical Services (Dental)” in subsection (2) and substituting the words “Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental)”.
Amendment of section 5
Section 5 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the word “ten” in paragraph (e) of subsection (1) and substituting the word “five”.
Amendment of section 10
Section 10 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the word “jaw” in the sixth line and substituting the word “jaws”.
Amendment of section 12
Section 12 of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting the words “first day of November” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “last day of October”; and
by deleting the words “month of December” in subsection (5) and substituting the words “months of November and December”.
Amendment of section 14
Section 14 of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting the full-stop at the end of paragraph (c) of subsection (2) and substituting the word “; or”; and
by inserting, immediately after paragraph (c) of subsection (2), the following paragraph: —“(d)fails to serve the Government, or such other body or organisation as may be directed by the Government, for such period as may be specified in any undertaking given by him to the Government.”.
Amendment of section 18
Section, 18 of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting paragraph (a) of subsection (1) and substituting the following: —“(a)the Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental); or”; and
by deleting the words “Assistant Director of Medical Services (Dental)” in subsection (3) and substituting the words “Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental)”.
Repeal and re-enactment of Schedule
The Schedule to the principal Act is repealed and the following substituted therefor: —“THE SCHEDULESection 5.QualificationsCountry or State.
