Citation and commencement

Films (Class Licence for General Films Distribution) Order 2021 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation FA-S420-2021 1981, currently marked in force and first recorded in 1981.
Citation and commencement
This Order is the Films (Class Licence for General Films Distribution) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 1 July 2021.
Definitions
In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires —“appropriate film” means a classified film that is assigned under the Act a classification rating of “G”, “PG” or “PG13”;“class licensee” means a person who is subject to a class licence by virtue of this Order;“distribution outlet”, for a class licensee, means a place in Singapore —
at which films are distributed by the class licensee in the course of any business (whether or not distributed with any thing else); and
that is under the control (temporary or otherwise) or management of the class licensee;“exempt unclassified film” means an exempt film within the meaning of the Films (Classification — Exempt Films Other than Video Games) Notification 2019 (G.N. No. S 338/2019);“film” does not include a video game.
“appropriate film” means a classified film that is assigned under the Act a classification rating of “G”, “PG” or “PG13”;
“class licensee” means a person who is subject to a class licence by virtue of this Order;
“distribution outlet”, for a class licensee, means a place in Singapore —
at which films are distributed by the class licensee in the course of any business (whether or not distributed with any thing else); and
that is under the control (temporary or otherwise) or management of the class licensee;
“exempt unclassified film” means an exempt film within the meaning of the Films (Classification — Exempt Films Other than Video Games) Notification 2019 (G.N. No. S 338/2019);
Class licence for distributing appropriate films and exempt unclassified films
Unless exempt by or under section 40(1) of the Act, every person —
who distributes in the course of business at any of the person’s distribution outlets —
only appropriate films and no other films and no video games; or
only appropriate films and exempt unclassified films, and no other films and no video games; and
who is not a person to whom a class licence in the Films (Class Licence for Lending by Libraries and Educational Institutions) Order 2019 (G.N. No. S 336/2019) applies or a person to whom the application of that class licence is suspended or disapplied under the Act,is subject to a class licence in connection with the distribution of appropriate films and exempt unclassified films by that person in the course of business.
Condition of class licence
The condition of this class licence is that every class licensee must not distribute or allow to be distributed at any of the class licensee’s distribution outlets —
a video game; or (b)a film that is neither an appropriate film nor an exempt unclassified film.
