This Act is the Fire Safety (Amendment) Act 2016 and comes into operation on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the Gazette.

Clause 2

Amendment of section 2

Section 2(1) of the Fire Safety Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (a) of the definition of “pipeline owner” and substituting the following paragraph:“(a)if the section of the relevant pipeline is entirely or partially on a piperack or pipetrack, the person who owns or leases, and has management and control, of the piperack or pipetrack; or”;

(b)

by deleting the words “if paragraph (a) does not apply,” in paragraph (b) of the definition of “pipeline owner” and substituting the words “if the entire section of the relevant pipeline is not on a piperack or pipetrack,”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the words “piperack or pipetrack” in the definition of “relevant pipeline”, the words “, if any,”.
