Fire Safety (Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 — Exemption) Order 2026 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation FSA-S302-2026 1993, currently marked in force and first recorded in 1993.
Citation and commencement
This Order is the Fire Safety (Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 — Exemption) Order 2026 and comes into operation on 25 May 2026.
Definitions
In this Order —“event organiser” means the company known as Singapore GP Pte. Ltd. (UEN 200707649N);“relevant building” means any temporary building that is built or erected by the event organiser for the purpose of the specified event;“specified event” means the event known as the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 scheduled to take place in Singapore between 9 October 2026 and 11 October 2026 (both dates inclusive), and includes any meetings and social events held in connection with the event;“specified fire safety works” means the fire safety works that are carried out in respect of a relevant building;“temporary building” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Building Control Act 1989.
“event organiser” means the company known as Singapore GP Pte. Ltd. (UEN 200707649N);
“relevant building” means any temporary building that is built or erected by the event organiser for the purpose of the specified event;
“specified event” means the event known as the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 scheduled to take place in Singapore between 9 October 2026 and 11 October 2026 (both dates inclusive), and includes any meetings and social events held in connection with the event;
“specified fire safety works” means the fire safety works that are carried out in respect of a relevant building;
“temporary building” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Building Control Act 1989.
Exemptions
The following persons are exempt from section 35 of the Act in respect of any relevant building:
any person who occupies or uses the relevant building for the specified event;
the event organiser, in relation to permitting the occupation or use of the relevant building for the specified event.
The event organiser is exempt from sections 55 to 58 and 60 of the Act in respect of any specified fire safety works.
The event organiser is exempt from the following provisions in respect of the relevant building:
regulation 5 of the Fire Safety (Fire Safety Managers) Regulations (Rg 3) in respect of the duties that the fire safety manager is exempt from under sub‑paragraph (4);
regulation 3(d) of the Fire Safety (Emergency Response Plan) Regulations (Rg 4).
The fire safety manager appointed in respect of any relevant building under section 38 of the Act (read with paragraph 2(1) of the Fire Safety (Premises Requiring Fire Safety Manager and Company Emergency Response Team) Notification 2020 (G.N. No. S 768/2020)) is exempt from having to carry out the duties mentioned in regulations 7(1)(ea), (k) and (n) and (2)(a)(i) and 8(1) of the Fire Safety (Fire Safety Managers) Regulations.
The Company Emergency Response Team established in respect of any relevant building under section 38 of the Act (read with paragraph 2(1) of the Fire Safety (Premises Requiring Fire Safety Manager and Company Emergency Response Team) Notification 2020) is exempt from regulation 4(c) of the Fire Safety (Company Emergency Response Team) Regulations 2013 (G.N. No. S 540/2013).
Conditions of exemption
The exemptions under paragraph 3 are subject to the conditions specified in the Schedule.
Cessation of exemption
The exemptions under paragraph 3 cease on the earlier of the following dates:
10 November 2026;
the date that any condition specified in the Schedule ceases to be complied with.
