Security Threat Posed by Militants Who Travel Overseas to Fight
1 Ms Irene Ng Phek Hoong asked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs in view of the growing number of extremists from various countries travelling to Syria to fight (a) whether the Government shares the concerns expressed by Britain, France and Australia that these militants will pose a security threat to their home countries upon their return; (b) if so, what are the implications for Singapore; and (c) what measures are being taken to counter this security threat given that terrorist groups are using social media to recruit militants in various parts of the world to their cause.
