Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Act, 1980, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

This Act may be cited as the Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Act, 1980, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 33
Section 33 of the Hire-Purchase Act is amended by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting the following: —“(c)the hirer is required to pay interest on any overdue instalment at a rate per annum exceeding that prescribed by the Minister by notification in the Gazette;”.
