Clause 1

Short title and commencement

This Act may be cited as the Ngee Ann Technical College (Amendment) Act, 1974 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

Clause 2

Amendment of section 7

Subsection (1) of section 7 of the Ngee Ann Technical College Act is hereby amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (c) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(c)three members appointed by the Minister to represent the Government;”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (g) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(g)such number of members to represent commercial, industrial and professional interests as the Minister may determine, all of whom shall be appointed by him.”.

Clause 3

Repeal and re-enacment of section 12

Section 12 of the Ngee Ann Technical College Act is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor: —“Use of the common seal

12. The common seal of the College shall be in the custody of the Principal and shall not be affixed to any instrument, other than a diploma or an academic certificate, except in the presence of the Chairman or a member of the Council and the Principal who shall sign their names to the instrument in token of their presence before the common seal is affixed thereto.”.
