This Act may be cited as the Petroleum (Amendment) Act, 1978, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 31st day of December 1977.

Amendment of section 20

Section 20 of the Petroleum Act is hereby amended by deleting subsection (5) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(5) Every licence shall, unless previously cancelled, be valid for such period of not more than twelve months as may be specified in the licence.”.
