Citation
This Order may be cited as the Prohibition of Imports and Exports (Kuwait) Order.
Importation of goods from Kuwait prohibited
The importation into Singapore of all goods originating from or manufactured wholly or mainly in Kuwait is absolutely prohibited.
Exportation of goods to Kuwait prohibited
The exportation from Singapore of all goods of any origin to Kuwait is absolutely prohibited.
Saving
Paragraphs 2 and 3 shall not apply to —
the importation of any goods which are proved to the satisfaction of the Controller of Imports and Exports, Trade Development Board, to have been despatched from Kuwait to Singapore on or before 6th August 1990; and
the exportation of any goods which are despatched from Singapore on or before 24th August 1990 to Kuwait.
Penalty
Any person who contravenes paragraphs 2 and 3 shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or 3 times the value of the goods whichever may be the greater or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both; and
in the case of a second or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding $20,000 or 4 times the value of the goods whichever may be the greater or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.
