Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Sewerage and Drainage (Amendment) Act 2002 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Sewerage and Drainage (Amendment) Act 2002 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 2
Section 2 of the Sewerage and Drainage Act (referred to in this Act as the principal Act) is amended by deleting the definition of “registered plumber”.
Amendment of section 11
Section 11 of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting the words “Except as otherwise provided in section 37, no” in subsection (1) and substituting the word “No”; and
by inserting, immediately after subsection (4), the following subsection: “(5) This section shall not apply to the repair, replacement or removal of, or any addition to, sanitary facilities or sanitary appliances in a building.”.
Amendment of section 14
Section 14(1) of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words “Except as otherwise provided in section 37, no” in the 1st line and substituting the word “No”.
Amendment of section 33
Section 33 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (7) and substituting the following subsection: “(7) In issuing a clearance certificate or granting its approval under subsection (5), the Board may impose such conditions as it thinks fit, including a condition that only sanitary appliances, pipes and fittings of a type approved by the Board shall be used.”.
Repeal of sections 36 and 37
Sections 36 and 37 of the principal Act are repealed.
Amendment of section 47
Section 47(4) of the principal Act is amended —
by inserting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (b); and
by deleting paragraph (c).
Amendment of section 74
Section 74(1) of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting the word “; and” at the end of paragraph (c) and substituting a full-stop; and
by deleting paragraph (d).
