Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Public Entertainments (Specified Arts Entertainment) (Exemption) Order 2005 and shall come into operation on 27th May 2005.

Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Public Entertainments (Specified Arts Entertainment) (Exemption) Order 2005 and shall come into operation on 27th May 2005.
Definitions
In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires —“arts entertainment” has the same meaning as in the First Schedule to the Act;“specified arts entertainment” means any arts entertainment —
which is within the description of any item specified in the Schedule; and
which is not exempted under paragraph 3(1)(d), (1A), (3), (7), (9) or (10)(i) of the Public Entertainments (Exemptions) Order (O 1);“traditional”, in relation to an arts entertainment, means the original form of the arts entertainment, and does not include an interpretative version of the arts entertainment.
“arts entertainment” has the same meaning as in the First Schedule to the Act;
“specified arts entertainment” means any arts entertainment —
which is within the description of any item specified in the Schedule; and
which is not exempted under paragraph 3(1)(d), (1A), (3), (7), (9) or (10)(i) of the Public Entertainments (Exemptions) Order (O 1);
“traditional”, in relation to an arts entertainment, means the original form of the arts entertainment, and does not include an interpretative version of the arts entertainment.
Exemption
Any specified arts entertainment is exempted from section 4 of the Act if the following conditions are complied with:
nothing shall be included in the arts entertainment which —
is of a religious nature;
is likely to cause offence to any racial or religious group in Singapore;
is likely to cause feelings of enmity, ill-will or hostility between different racial or religious groups in Singapore;
is lewd or obscene;
depicts or describes any sexual matter, alternative sexual lifestyle (including homosexuality or transgenderism) or sexually permissive lifestyle;
depicts or describes any unlawful activity or anything that may, directly or indirectly, promote any unlawful activity, gambling or drug abuse;
depicts or describes any act of torture, cruelty or violence;
is directed towards a political end; or
is likely to undermine national interest;

any approval, authorisation, consent, licence or permit necessary for the provision of the arts entertainment shall be obtained before the commencement of the arts entertainment; and
where the arts entertainment is to take place outdoors —
[Deleted by S 583/2019 wef 01/09/2019](ii)the organiser of the arts entertainment shall notify any police officer on duty at any Neighbourhood Police Post, Neighbourhood Police Centre or the Police Land Division of the arts entertainment, at least 7 days before the arts entertainment, in such form and manner as the Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer may determine;
no more than 4 loudspeakers shall be used for or in connection with the arts entertainment;
any loudspeaker used shall be inclined towards the audience or participants, or otherwise positioned to face the audience or participants;
the arts entertainment shall commence not earlier than 11.00 a.m. and end not later than 10.30 p.m.; and (vi)the organiser of the arts entertainment shall take all reasonable measures to ensure public order and public safety at all times.
Sub-paragraph (1) does not apply to a specified arts entertainment provided —
in combination with any other public entertainment which is not a specified arts entertainment; or
in a specified establishment.
Sub-paragraph (1)(f) does not apply to a specified arts entertainment in paragraph 9 of the Schedule which —
is not provided in combination with any other specified arts entertainment; and
does not involve the use of any equipment for the projection, transmission or reproduction of sound.
Savings
Nothing in this Order shall be construed to limit or in any way affect the operation of any other written law.
