Citation and commencement
These Rules are the Public Entertainments (Arts Entertainment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 6 May 2022.
Definition
In these Rules, “licence” means a licence issued or renewed, or to be issued or renewed, under the Act by the Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer.
Application for licence, etc.
For the purpose of section 5(3)(a) of the Act, the prescribed website is https://iris.imda.gov.sg/application/arts-entertainment-licence.
Where an application for a licence is made by a company or firm, the application must be made jointly with the person to whom the company or firm wishes the licence to be issued.
Licence not transferable
A licensee must not transfer or lend the licensee’s licence to any other person.
Licence fee
The fee payable for the issue or renewal of a licence is a sum calculated at the rate specified in the Schedule.
Fee for classification of content of arts entertainment
The fee payable to the Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer under section 17(1)(c) of the Act for the classification of the content of an arts entertainment is $30.
In this rule, “arts entertainment” includes the arts entertainment mentioned in section 16(7)(a) and (b) of the Act.
Waiver of fees
The Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer may waive the payment of any fee specified in these Rules.
A waiver under paragraph (1) may be made —
in respect of the whole or part of a fee;
in any particular case or class of cases; and
subject to any conditions that the Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer thinks fit.
Refund of fee
No refund may be made in respect of any fee paid under these Rules, except where the Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer considers appropriate.
Revocation
The Public Entertainments and Meetings (Arts Entertainment) Rules (R 4) are revoked.
