This Order may be cited as the Customs (Duties) (Exemption for Officials of International Organisations) Order 2005.

Regulation 2

Definitions

In this Order —“Meetings”, in relation to any Organisation, means the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the Organisation and any ancillary meetings thereto to be held in Singapore in September 2006;“Official”, in relation to any Organisation, means —

(a)

any Governor, Executive Director, Alternate, member of any committee or representative of the Organisation;

(b)

any officer or employee of the Organisation; or

(c)

any adviser to any person referred to in paragraph (a);“Organisation” means any one of the following: (a)the International Monetary Fund;

(b)

the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development;

(c)

the International Finance Corporation;

(d)

the International Development Association;

(e)

the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes;

(f)

the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

Every Official of an Organisation is hereby exempted from the payment of customs and excise duties on any goods brought into Singapore as his personal baggage for the purpose of his attending to the preparations for its Meetings or his attending its Meetings.
