Standards for exhaust emission for petrol driven motor vehicles
Subregulation 1
Every petrol driven motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle or scooter) to be registered for the first time in Singapore on or after 31st January 2008 shall conform to the relevant standard for exhaust emission prescribed by the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6).
Subregulation 2
The Registrar shall not approve an application made on or after 31st January 2008 for the first registration in Singapore of a petrol driven motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle or scooter) unless he is satisfied that the vehicle conforms to the relevant standard for exhaust emission prescribed by the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations for that vehicle.
Subregulation 3
The Registrar may, in his discretion, exempt any petrol driven motor vehicle from this rule.
