Standards for noise emission
Subregulation 1
Every motor vehicle to be registered for the first time in Singapore on or after 31st January 2008 shall conform to the relevant standard for noise emission prescribed by the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Cap. 94A, Rg 6).
Subregulation 2
This rule shall also apply to every secondhand motor vehicle registered for the first time in Singapore on or after 31st January 2008.
Subregulation 3
For the purpose of paragraph (2), a motor vehicle that has been used in any country or place outside Singapore prior to its registration for the first time in Singapore shall be regarded as a secondhand vehicle.
Subregulation 4
The Registrar may, in his discretion, exempt any motor vehicle from this rule.
