Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Admission) Rules

Any person who desires to be admitted to the Polytechnic shall make an application to the Polytechnic in such form as the Polytechnic may require.

The Senate shall consider an application made under paragraph (1) and may grant or refuse to grant the application.

Any decision under paragraph (2) shall be final.

A person who has been granted admission to the Polytechnic must pay all tuition fees and other fees or charges levied by the Polytechnic.

If any fee or charge payable under paragraph (1) is not paid in full by the person by the date on which the payment is due, the Polytechnic may levy a late payment charge.

The Polytechnic may waive or refund, wholly or partially, any fee or charge payable or paid under paragraph (1) or (2).

The Registrar shall cause a register (referrd to in these Rules as the register) to be kept containing the names and addresses of students registered under these Rules and such other particulars as may be determined by the Registrar.

The Registrar shall be responsible for the maintenance and custody of the register.

Subject to rule 6, a person who has been granted admission to the Polytechnic and has complied with rule 4(1) must be registered as a student in the register.

The Senate may revoke a decision to admit a person under rule 3 or cancel the registration of a person as a student under rule 5, if that person —

The Senate shall, before revoking any decision or cancelling any registration under paragraph (1), give the person concerned notice in writing of its intention to do so, specifying a date, not less than 14 days after the date of the notice, upon which the revocation or cancellation, as the case may be, shall take effect and calling upon the person to show cause to the Senate why the decision should not be revoked or the registration cancelled.

When the Senate has revoked a decision or cancelled a registration under paragraph (1), the Senate shall forthwith inform the person concerned by notice in writing of the revocation or cancellation.

Upon the revocation of a decision to admit a person to the Polytechnic, the person shall not be so admitted and upon the cancellation of the registration of a person as a student in the register the person shall cease to be a student of the Polytechnic.
