Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Disposal Facility — Exemption) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 1 July 2023.
Definitions
In these Regulations —“general waste” has the meaning given by regulation 2(1) of the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Collection) Regulations (Rg 12);“general waste disposal facility” has the meaning given by regulation 2 of the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Disposal Facility) Regulations 2017 (G.N. No. S 380/2017);“Institute of Higher Learning” means any of the following:
the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore established under the Institute of Technical Education Act 1992;
the Nanyang Technological University; (c)the National University of Singapore; (d)the Singapore Institute of Technology;
the Singapore Management University;
the Singapore University of Social Sciences; (g)the Singapore University of Technology and Design;
any polytechnic managed and administered by —
the Nanyang Polytechnic established under the Nanyang Polytechnic Act 1992;
the Ngee Ann Polytechnic established under the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Act 1967;
the Republic Polytechnic established under the Republic Polytechnic Act 2002; (iv)the Singapore Polytechnic established under the Singapore Polytechnic Act 1954; or
the Temasek Polytechnic established under the Temasek Polytechnic Act 1990.
“general waste” has the meaning given by regulation 2(1) of the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Collection) Regulations (Rg 12);
“general waste disposal facility” has the meaning given by regulation 2 of the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Disposal Facility) Regulations 2017 (G.N. No. S 380/2017);
“Institute of Higher Learning” means any of the following:
the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore established under the Institute of Technical Education Act 1992;
the Nanyang Technological University; (c)the National University of Singapore; (d)the Singapore Institute of Technology;
the Singapore Management University;
the Singapore University of Social Sciences; (g)the Singapore University of Technology and Design;
any polytechnic managed and administered by —
the Nanyang Polytechnic established under the Nanyang Polytechnic Act 1992;
the Ngee Ann Polytechnic established under the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Act 1967;
the Republic Polytechnic established under the Republic Polytechnic Act 2002; (iv)the Singapore Polytechnic established under the Singapore Polytechnic Act 1954; or
the Temasek Polytechnic established under the Temasek Polytechnic Act 1990.
Exemption
A person that constructs, establishes, maintains or operates any general waste disposal facility specified in the Schedule is exempt from section 23(1) of the Act.
Revocation
Revoke the Environmental Public Health (General Waste Disposal Facility — Exemption) Regulations 2019 (G.N. No. S 444/2019).
