This Order is the Professional Engineers (Qualification for Registration as Professional Engineers) (Exemption) Order 2016.
Exemption
The Minister exempts, from section 21(2) of the Act, any person who —
applies for registration as a professional engineer in the branch of chemical engineering no later than 6 months after 1 January 2017; and
on the date of the application —
has a degree or qualification approved under section 21(1)(a) of the Act in respect of the branch of chemical engineering; and
has, after obtaining the degree or qualification mentioned in sub‑paragraph (i), acquired at least 5 years of such practical experience (whether in Singapore or elsewhere) in the branch of chemical engineering as may be acceptable to the Board.
