Regulation 63E
Powers of entry and search
Subregulation 1
The Port Master, any authorised officer or any public officer authorised by the Authority may —
enter, inspect and search any ship or port facility —
for the purpose of ensuring that the regulations in this Part are complied with; or
if he has reasonable grounds for believing that an offence is being or was committed under the provisions of this Part; and
seize any evidence of the commission of an offence under the provisions of this Part.
Subregulation 2
No person may prevent or obstruct the Port Master, any authorised officer or any public officer authorised by the Authority from performing any act under paragraph (1).
Subregulation 3
Any person who contravenes paragraph (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000.
