Proposed text

—(1) No person shall conduct any event or organised activity in a reservoir or waterway without the prior written approval of an authorised officer.(2) An approval under paragraph (1) may be given subject to such conditions as to time, place or other circumstances as the authorised officer may impose.(3) Without affecting regulation 39, where a person granted written approval under paragraph (1) for an event or organised activity is also granted an approval under regulation 7B for any structure required to be installed or kept in a reservoir or waterway in connection with the event or organised activity, an authorised officer may revoke the approval granted under paragraph (1) if the person fails to comply with any condition imposed on the approval granted under regulation 7B.(4) In this regulation —“event” means —(a)any race, display, regatta or other sporting event; or(b)any procession, parade, celebration, ceremony or gathering;“organised activity” means any equipment rental, or any course, programme or training, that is carried out on a regular basis.
