Ventilation
Subregulation 1
Subject to paragraph (3), it shall be the duty of the occupier of a workplace to ensure that every workroom of the workplace is provided with adequate ventilation.
Subregulation 2
Where gases, vapours or other impurities are generated in the course of any process or work carried out in a workplace which may be injurious to health, it shall be the duty of the occupier of the workplace to provide effective and suitable ventilation —
for securing and maintaining the circulation of fresh air in the workplace; and
to render harmless, so far as is reasonably practicable, all such gases, vapours or other impurities.
Subregulation 3
This regulation shall not apply to any workplace where it is impracticable to make provision for adequate ventilation and where suitable air-supplied breathing apparatus is provided to persons at work in the workplace.
