Proposed text

—(1) A Selection Board is established to select individuals to attend an Officer Basic Course.(2) The Selection Board must consist of not less than 3 individuals, all of whom must be appointed by the Commandant of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps.(3) At least one member of the Selection Board established under paragraph (1) must be a representative from the Ministry of Education.(4) The principal of a school may submit the names of suitable individuals on the teaching staff of the school, who are 19 years of age or older, for selection to attend the Officer Basic Course established under paragraph (1).(5) An individual on the teaching staff of a school or otherwise who has been selected under this regulation may attend the Officer Basic Course, and upon the successful completion thereof the Council may recommend to the Minister that the individual be appointed to the rank of Probationary Lieutenant or Probationary Honorary Lieutenant under section 7(1) or (2) of the Act, as the case may be.
