The Minister for Sustainability and the Environment assigns to the Singapore Food Agency the function of supporting the Government’s ability to maintain and manage a minimum quantity of fit stocks of certain foods in Singapore to ensure food security in Singapore by undertaking, as an agent of the Government —
(a)
the procurement and holding of fit stocks of those foods; and
(b)
the distribution and disposal of the stocks of those foods.
