These Regulations are the Vulnerable Adults (Managers of Places of Temporary Care and Protection and Places of Safety) Regulations 2018.
Duty to monitor vulnerable adult, provide progress report, etc.
The manager of a place of temporary care and protection or place of safety must —
monitor the care and wellbeing of every vulnerable adult committed to the place of temporary care and protection or place of safety under section 11(1)(a) or 14(1)(a) or (b) of the Act, as the case may be;
provide any information concerning the care and wellbeing of a vulnerable adult mentioned in paragraph (a) to the Director‑General whenever requested by the Director‑General; and
provide a progress report relating to the care and wellbeing of a vulnerable adult mentioned in paragraph (a) in such form, manner and frequency as required by the Director‑General.
Duty to provide information in respect of offence
Where the manager of a place of temporary care and protection or place of safety reasonably suspects that an offence under the Act is, or has been, committed against a vulnerable adult during the vulnerable adult’s period of committal in the place of temporary care and protection or place of safety (as the case may be), the manager must immediately report the matter to the Director‑General or an enforcement officer.
In making a report under paragraph (1), the manager must provide the Director‑General or enforcement officer with all information concerning the suspected commission of the offence that is known to the manager.
Duty to attend meeting with Review Board
The manager of a place of temporary care and protection or place of safety must, when required by the Review Board, attend any meeting of the Review Board to discuss or review a proper care plan for a vulnerable adult committed to the place of temporary care and protection or place of safety, as the case may be.
Where the manager is unable to attend a meeting mentioned in paragraph (1), a suitable staff member employed in the place of temporary care and protection or place of safety (as the case may be) may attend the meeting on behalf of the manager.
