Assessor to Council
(1)
For the purposes of advising the Council, the Complaints Committees, the Disciplinary Committees, the Health Committee and the Interim Orders Committee in any proceedings before any of them under the provisions of this Act, the Council may appoint an assessor to the Council who shall be an advocate and solicitor of not less than 10 years’ standing.
(2)
The assessor shall not participate or sit in any deliberations of the Council, the Complaints Committees, the Disciplinary Committees, the Health Committee or the Interim Orders Committee unless invited to do so, and his participation shall be limited only to questions of law arising from the proceedings.
(3)
The Council may pay to the assessor, as part of the expenses of the Council, such remuneration as the Council may determine.
