Section 33

Access to medical care ashore

A shipowner must take such measures as are necessary and practicable to ensure that seafarers employed on the shipowner’s ship have access when in port to —

(a)

outpatient treatment for sickness and injury;

(b)

hospitalisation when necessary; and

(c)

facilities for dental treatment.
