Prescribed persons excluded from meaning of “adoption agency”
Subregulation 1
For the purposes of section 3(1) of the Act, each of the following persons making any arrangement for or on behalf of any other person (A) for the adoption in Singapore by A of a child is not an “adoption agency”:
any advocate or solicitor, when acting for A in relation to an adoption application made by A in respect of that child;
any employee of the advocate or solicitor mentioned in paragraph (a) or of a law corporation, law firm or limited liability law partnership, when assisting the advocate or solicitor in the matter mentioned in that paragraph.
Subregulation 2
In paragraph (1), a reference to an adoption application includes a reference to an application under the repealed Act.
