Clause 2

Amendment of section 2

Section 2 of the Official Secrets Act (referred to in this Act as the principal Act) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word “Government” in the 3rd line of the definition of “office under the Government” in subsection (1), the words “or any specified organisation”;

(b)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of the definition of “prohibited place” in subsection (1) and substituting a semi-colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following definition:“ “specified organisation” means any organisation specified in the Schedule.”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(3) The President may, by notification in the Gazette, amend the Schedule.”.
