Clause 37

Service of documents

(1)

Where this Act authorises or requires a document to be served on a person, whether the expression “serve”, “lodge”, “provide” or “submit” or any other expression is used, the document may be served on the person —

(a)

by delivering it to the person personally;

(b)

by leaving it during normal business hours at the usual place of business of the person; or

(c)

by sending it by post or facsimile transmission to the usual or last known place of business of the person.

(2)

Service of a document that is sent to the usual or last known place of business of a person under subsection (1)(c) shall be deemed to have been effected when the document is received at that place.

(3)

The provisions of this section are in addition to, and do not limit or exclude, the provisions of any other law with respect to the service of documents.
