Clause 5

Notwithstanding anything in section 12, a member of the Fund, or a committee of his person or of his estate appointed under the Mental Disorders and Treatment Act (Cap. 162), shall not be entitled to withdraw any sum standing to the member’s credit in the medisave account under section 12(2)(a), (d) or (e) or section 12(3) if the amount in his medisave account does not exceed the prescribed amount.(2) Where the amount in a member’s medisave account exceeds the prescribed amount, such amount as is in excess of the prescribed amount may be withdrawn under section 12(2)(a), (d) or (e) or section 12(3).(3) In subsections (1) and (2), “prescribed amount” means such amount as may be prescribed by the Minister from time to time by regulations made under section 45.”.
