Amendment of section 106
In the Customs Act, in section 106, after subsection (1), insert —“(1A) The Director‑General may authorise in writing an auxiliary police officer who is employed on any duty or service relating to customs to exercise the power under subsection (1).(1B) An auxiliary police officer authorised under subsection (1A) is deemed to be an officer of customs for the purposes of this section.”.
