of Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Tentera) — (The Distinguished Service Order — Military) Rules 1981
Regulation 4
The Medal of the Distinguished Service Order (Military) shall consist of the sash and —
a breast star of silver base 95 millimetres in diameter and 8.5 millimetres in thickness. On the obverse side, the breast star shall be in the form of a diamond-effect star with a gold-plated five-pointed star resting on it. The centre medallion of the five pointed star shall show the State Crest resting on the white enamel background and with the words ‘SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES’ in black being embedded in it. In the centre of the reverse side thereof shall be the inscription ‘DARJAH UTAMA BAKTI CEMERLANG (TENTERA)’; and
a sash badge of silver base, 55 millimetres in diameter and 6.5 millimetres in thickness. On the obverse side, the Medal shall bear the design of the badge but is without the diamond-effect star underneath it which is substituted by another wide-bodied five-pointed gold-plated star. The reverse side of the Medal shall remain plain.
