Amendment of section 43
of Drug Trafficking (Confiscation of Benefits) (Amendment) Bill
Section 43 of the principal Act is amended —
by deleting the words “for the purpose of avoiding prosecution for a drug trafficking offence or the making or enforcement in his case of a confiscation order” in the 7th, 8th and 9th lines of subsection (1);
by inserting, immediately after the words “drug trafficking offence” in the 8th line of subsection (2), the words “or a foreign drug trafficking offence”;
by inserting, immediately after the word “knowing” in the 1st line of subsections (2) and (3), the words “or having reasonable grounds to believe”; and
by deleting “$100,000” in subsection (6) and substituting “$200,000”.
