Clause 76

Regulations

(1)

The Minister may make regulations —

(a)

for or in respect of every purpose which is necessary for carrying out the provisions of this Act;

(b)

for prescribing any matter which is authorised or required under this Act to be prescribed; and

(c)

without prejudice to the generality of paragraphs (a) and (b) for or in respect of the matters specified in the Third Schedule.

(2)

The Minister may, in making any regulations, provide that any contravention of or failure to comply with the regulations shall be an offence punishable with a fine not exceeding $50,000 or with imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or with both and, in the case of a continuing offence, with a fine not exceeding $2,000 for every day or part thereof during which the offence continues after conviction.

(3)

All such regulations shall be presented to Parliament as soon as possible after publication in the Gazette.
