Citation and commencement

Environmental Public Health (Ash Scattering Facility — Exemption) Regulations 2021 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation EPHA-S317-2021 1987, currently marked in force and first recorded in 1987.
Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Environmental Public Health (Ash Scattering Facility — Exemption) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 17 May 2021.
Definitions
In these Regulations —“ash scattering facility” means any of the following:
the Garden of Peace in the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery;
the Garden of Serenity in the Mandai North Crematorium;“ashes” means the remains, in powder form, of a corpse (including a stillborn child) or a human body part, that have been cremated in a crematorium.

“ashes” means the remains, in powder form, of a corpse (including a stillborn child) or a human body part, that have been cremated in a crematorium.
Exemption
Section 17(1)(a) of the Act does not apply to an individual who deposits, drops, places or throws ashes in an area of the ash scattering facility which is designated by the operator of the facility for that purpose.
Section 17(1)(b) of the Act does not apply to an individual who keeps or leaves ashes in an area of the ash scattering facility which is designated by the operator of the facility for that purpose.
