Unauthorised alterations
(1)
No licensee, stall-holder or other person shall erect any extension or effect any alteration to any stall, shed or other place in any public market or private market without the permission of the Commissioner or cause any obstruction in any of the passage-ways or other places therein.
(2)
Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall be guilty of an offence under this Act and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars.
(3)
The Commissioner may serve a notice in writing on any person contravening the provisions of subsection (1) of this section requiring such person to remove any erection or obstruction within a specified period, and if such person fails to comply with such notice within such specified period, the Commissioner may, without prejudice to any proceedings under subsection (2) of this section and whether before or after the commencement or conclusion of such proceedings, remove such erection or obstruction, and recover the costs and expenses of such removal from such person.
