Amendment of section 7

Section 7 of the Films Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) An application for a licence must be made to the Authority, be accompanied by an application fee (if prescribed), and be made in the form or manner determined by the Authority.”;

(b)

by deleting the words “Licensing Officer” in subsection (2) and substituting the word “Authority”; and

(c)

by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the following subsections:“(3) A licence may be granted in such form as the Authority determines.(4) Subject to subsection (5), the Authority may, at any time, modify the conditions of a licence.(5) Unless the Authority considers it impractical or undesirable in the circumstances of the case, the Authority must, before proceeding to modify any condition of a licence under subsection (4), give the licensee concerned notice in writing of its intention to do so, and an opportunity to make a representation, within such time as may be specified in the notice, as to why the condition should not be modified.”.
