Regulation 41
General safeguards for examinations
Subregulation 1
A licensee must implement safeguards to ensure that —
(a)
every examination is conducted on the correct patient; and
(b)
the examination of every patient is conducted at the part of the body or the site of the body part of the patient in accordance with the prescription of a dentist or medical practitioner.
Subregulation 2
In conducting any examination on a patient, a licensee must ensure that —
(a)
there are protocols in place to ensure that the patient’s exposure to radiation is kept to a minimum; and
(b)
there are appropriate safety measures in place to protect any other individual against exposure to radiation.
