Citation and commencement
This Code is the Highway (Revision) Code 2024 and comes into operation on 1 March 2024.
Amendment of Part III heading
In the Highway Code (R 11), in Part III, in the Part heading, after “PEDAL CYCLISTS”, insert “, RECUMBENT DEVICE RIDERS”.
Amendment of paragraph 36
In the Highway Code, in paragraph 36, after “bicycle” wherever it appears, insert “, three‑wheeled pedal cycle or recumbent device”.
Amendment of paragraph 38
In the Highway Code, in paragraph 38 —
after “bicycle’s” wherever it appears, insert “, three‑wheeled pedal cycle’s or recumbent device’s”;
after “either side of the bicycle”, insert “, three‑wheeled pedal cycle or recumbent device”; and
after “full control of the bicycle”, insert “, three‑wheeled pedal cycle or recumbent device”.
