Clause 16
(1)
The name of every limited partnership shall contain the words “limited partnership” or the acronym “LP”.
(2)
No person registered as a general partner of a limited partnership shall carry on the business of the limited partnership under a name that is not registered under section 12 or 18(1).
(3)
The registration of the name of a limited partnership shall not be construed as authorising the use of that name if, apart from such registration, the use thereof could be prohibited.
(4)
Every general partner of a limited partnership who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
