Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (Amendment) Bill

This Act may be cited as the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (Amendment) Act 1985.

The Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Act 1983 (referred to in this Act as the principal Act) is amended by inserting, immediately after section 14, the following section:“Protection from personal liability14A. No suit or other legal proceedings shall lie personally against any member, officer or employee of the Corporation or other person acting under the direction of the Corporation for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in the execution or purported execution of this Act.”.

Section 17(2) of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words “from banks and other financial institutions”.

The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 23, the following section:“Annual report23A. The Corporation shall, as soon as practicable after the end of each financial year, submit to the Minister a report on the activities of the Corporation during that financial year and the Minister shall cause a copy of every such report to be presented to Parliament.”.
