Notification of crew list
of Merchant Shipping (Maritime Labour Convention) Bill
(1)
A shipowner and the master shall notify the Authority, in the prescribed manner, of the details of seafarers who are employed on a ship on the following occasions:
when the ship is registered, provisionally or otherwise, under Part II of the Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 179);
when a seafarer’s employment agreement is entered into with any seafarer;
when any term of the seafarer’s employment agreement of a seafarer employed on the ship is altered;
when a seafarer is discharged from the ship.

Any shipowner or master who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000.
