Clause 1
Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the National Theatre Trust (Amendment) Act, 1967, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

Clause 2
Amendment of preamble
The second preamble to the National Theatre Trust Ordinance, 1960 (hereinafter in this Act referred to as “the Ordinance”) is hereby amended by deleting the word “Malayan” appearing in the third line thereof and substituting therefor the word “National”.
Clause 3
Amendment of section 4
Section 4 of the Ordinance is hereby amended —
(a)
by inserting immediately after the word “Chairman” appearing in the first line of subsection (1) thereof the expression “, a Deputy Chairman”;
(b)
by inserting immediately after the word “Chairman” appearing in the first line of subsection (3) thereof the words “or in his absence the Deputy Chairman”;
(c)
by inserting immediately after the word “Chairman” appearing in the first line of subsection (4) thereof the words “or Deputy Chairman”; and
(d)
by deleting subsection (5) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(5) The Trustees of the Board shall hold office for a period of three years from the date of their respective appointments or for such lesser period as the Minister may think fit and shall be eligible for re-appointment on completion of that period.”.
Clause 4
Amendment of section 8
Section 8 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately after the word “Chairman” appearing in the third line thereof the words “or Deputy Chairman”.
Clause 5
Amendment of section 9
Subsection (1) of section 9 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting the words “the Legislative Assembly” appearing at the end thereof and substituting therefor the word “Parliament”.
Clause 6
Amendment of section 10
Subsection (3) of section 10 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by deleting the words “the Legislative Assembly” appearing in the fifth and sixth lines thereof and substituting therefor the word “Parliament”.
Clause 7
Amendment of section 12
Subsection (2) of section 12 of the Ordinance is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor: —“(2) All cheques drawn upon the bank account of the Board shall be signed by two of the following: —
(a)
the Chairman;
(b)
the Deputy Chairman; and
(c)
such Trustee as may be nominated by the Board for this purpose.”.
