Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Ngee Ann Technical College (Amendment) Act, 1981, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.

Short title and commencement
This Act may be cited as the Ngee Ann Technical College (Amendment) Act, 1981, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Miscellaneous amendments
The Ngee Ann Technical College Act is amended —
by deleting the words “Ngee Ann Technical College” in the long title and in sections 1, 2, 3, 17B and 17C and substituting in each case the words “Ngee Ann Polytechnic”; and
by deleting the word “College” in sections 2 to 6, 8, 9, 11 to 14, 15A, 16, 17, 17A and 18 and in the Schedule and substituting in each case the word “Polytechnic”.
Amendment of Institute of Education Act
The Institute of Education Act (Cap. 176) is amended by deleting the words “Ngee Ann Technical College” in section 5(1)(g) and substituting the words “Ngee Ann Polytechnic”.
Amendment of Ngee Ann Kongsi (Incorporation) Ordinance
The Ngee Ann Kongsi (Incorporation) Ordinance (1955 Ed. Cap. 307) is amended by deleting the words “Ngee Ann Technical College” wherever they appear in section 20A and substituting in each case the words “Ngee Ann Polytechnic”.
Construction of contracts, gifts, etc.
On and after the commencement of this Act, any reference to the Ngee Ann Technical College contained in any contract, agreement, bequest, will, trust or other instrument shall have effect as if it were a reference to the Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
