Amendment of section 10

Section 10 of the principal Act is hereby amended by deleting subsections (1) and (2) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(1) As soon as may be after the publication of any notification under section 8 of this Act the Registration Officer, with such assistance as he may require from the Commissioner appointed under the National Registration Act (Cap. 45), shall prepare for that year a separate register of electors for each electoral division and shall enter in such register the names of all persons who are qualified as electors under the provisions of section 5 of this Act and are not disqualified by any of the provisions of section 6 of this Act.(2) The registers of electors which are in operation on the date of the commencement of the Parliamentary Elections (Amendment) Act, 1973, shall be deemed to have been prepared under subsection (1) of this section, and shall continue in operation until superseded by revised or new registers.”.
