Amendment of section 36

Section 36(1) of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the definition of “calling line identity”, the following definition:“ “checker” means a person mentioned in section 43A(1);”; and

(b)

by deleting the definition of “voice call” and substituting the following definition:“ “voice call” includes —

(a)

a call that involves a recorded or synthetic voice; or

(b)

in the case of a recipient with a disability (for example, a hearing impairment), a call that is equivalent to a voice call.”.
