Defacement, etc., of traditional election advertisements during campaign period
of Presidential Elections (Election Advertising) Regulations 2023
Subregulation 1
A person commits an offence if —
the person knowingly destroys, damages, defaces or removes a traditional election advertisement during the campaign period of an election;
the traditional election advertisement is publicly displayed by or on behalf of a candidate at the election; and
the traditional election advertisement relates to the election.
Subregulation 2
A person who is guilty of an offence under paragraph (1) shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
