Regulation 15

Visits allowed in nursing home on polling day

Subregulation 1

Subject to this regulation, a person who is not an in‑patient or a resident of a nursing home where a special polling station is established may enter and remain at the premises of the nursing home during the hours of the poll to visit an in‑patient or a resident of the nursing home.

Subregulation 2

Paragraph (1) does not affect the visiting policy of the nursing home.

Subregulation 3

The Assistant Returning Officer for the special polling station may impose operational requirements to ensure the safe, orderly, efficient and timely conduct of the poll.

Subregulation 4

A visitor to the nursing home must not —

(a)

enter or remain in any polling place in the nursing home during the hours of the poll; or

(b)

be present when —

(i)

a mobile polling team is visiting a mobile polling elector to take his or her vote; or

(ii)

a mobile polling elector is recording his or her vote or placing his or her ballot paper in the ballot box.
