Modification of section 26 of Act: mobile polling elector excused from voting if visit by mobile polling team forbidden under Act
If the operator of a nursing home informs a member of a mobile polling team that a visit to a mobile polling elector is forbidden on medical grounds under section 30A(5) of the Act, the mobile polling elector —
must be treated under section 26(8) of the Act as having a good and sufficient reason for not having recorded his or her vote at the election; and
is entitled to have his or her name restored to the relevant register of electors without penalty, and without application, after the Registration Officer gives notice in the Gazette under section 26(6) of the Act after that election.
