In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires —“arts entertainment” has the same meaning as in the First Schedule to the Act;“bowling centre” means any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise, for the primary purpose of bowling;[Deleted by S 350/2011 wef 01/07/2011]“children” means persons of 12 years of age or below;“constituency” means an electoral division under the Parliamentary Elections Act 1954 and includes a group representation constituency;“constituency activity”, in relation to a constituency, means any activity organised for the benefit and participation of the residents of the constituency, and for which a licence is required under the Act;“credit” includes any form of financial accommodation;“fun fair” means an amusement fair which is, or may be, established and operated for a continuous period of not more than 31 days in any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise;“golf simulator centre” means any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise, for the primary purpose of practising or coaching golf, or carrying out golf club fitting, through the use of any computer‑generated simulation;“group representation constituency” has the same meaning as in section 2(1) of the Parliamentary Elections Act 1954;“hotel” means any premises registered as a hotel under the Hotels Act 1954, and “hotel-keeper” has the same meaning as in section 2 of that Act;“Licensing Officer” means the Public Entertainment Licensing Officer;[Deleted by S 493/2009 wef 09/10/2009]“martial arts” means akido, bersilat, jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, kendo, kung-fu, taekwon-do or a combination or variation thereof, or any other art of pugilism, fighting, boxing or self-defence;“massage establishment” means any establishment for massage in respect of which a licence has been issued under the Massage Establishments Act 2017 and remains in force;“merchant voucher” means any voucher (including any virtual voucher such as a QR code) that, on the redemption of the voucher and the fulfilment of the conditions specified by the voucher, entitles the holder of the voucher to —

(a)

receive, free of charge, the goods or services specified by the voucher; or

(b)

pay a reduced price for, or receive a rebate upon purchasing, the goods or services specified by the voucher;“money equivalent” has the meaning given by section 14 of the Gambling Control Act 2022, except that a reference to “any gambling” in that section is to be read as a reference to “any public entertainment”;“restricted prize” means a prize that —

(a)

has a value of $100 or more; or

(b)

is or includes money, a money equivalent, the provision of credit, or a merchant voucher;[Deleted by S 350/2011 wef 01/07/2011]“specified demonstration” means any demonstration of one or more of the art and craft, sports or cultural activities specified in the Schedule;“temporary fair” means a temporary fair for which a permit has been obtained from the Director-General, Food Administration under section 35 of the Environmental Public Health Act 1987.

“bowling centre” means any place to which the public or any class of the public has access, whether gratuitously or otherwise, for the primary purpose of bowling;
